BOSTON (October 31, 2015) – Lubbock Christian University opened their exhibition schedule with a wealth of offense and cruised to a 119-40 over Fisher College Saturday evening at Cathedral High School Gym.
Seven different Lady Chaparrals finished in double figures, led by 16 points from
Nicole Hampton, who played her first competitive game since the 2013-2014 season. LCU, playing in their first game under the new NCAA rule implications, received nine of Hampton's points in the first quarter of play.
The Lady Chaps, who led 62-21 at the half, also received 15 points from
Haley Fowler, 14 points from
Bobbi Chitsey, 12 points from
Tess Bruffey, 11 points from
Allison Szabo and 10 points each from
Kellyn Schneider and
Olivia Robertson. LCU received points from 12 different players in the third quarter.
Fisher, an NAIA Division II program, only dressed seven players, as several other rostered players are still playing other active varsity sports for Fisher. They did not produce their first field goal until less than four minutes remained in the opening quarter and LCU was already up 18-1.
Additional details are unavailable, as the host team did not stat the contest. The game capped off an educational day for the Lady Chaps, who spent the day touring Boston with stops at Fenway Park and along the Freedom Trail. Nearly 200 supporters that made the trip joined the Lady Chaps on their adventures around Beantown. The trip turns into more of a business trip, as LCU now focuses on Monday's exhibition at Connecticut in Hartford, Conn.
