Brett Bentley

Bentley joined the LCU men’s soccer program as Williams’ top assistant coach in 2015. He came to LCU after serving as a head coach in the NAIA coaching ranks. Bentley served as the director of soccer at Northwest Christian University (Ore.) for five seasons from 2010 – 2014, serving as the head coach of the men’s program from 2010-2014 and doubling as the women’s soccer head coach from 2011-2014. During his inaugural season with the men Bentley helped to immediately turn the tide, leading the men’s team to their most successful season. Additionally, during the 2012 season, Coach Bentley turned around the women’s program to produce their best finish to date in which the highlight of the season was the team’s win over the No.1 team in the nation, Concordia (Ore.), marking the biggest win in program history. During Bentley's tenure he helped numerous players reach all-conference, all-conference academic and Capital One All-Academic Regional awards while also leading each team to school records for overall wins, conference points, team GPA’s and scholastic awards. Bentley left NCU as the career wins leader for both programs. In December of 2014, Bentley departed NCU to accept the same position at Arizona Christian University, but shortly departed to join the LCU staff.

Prior to NCU, Bentley’s soccer roots reached back to Arizona, where he coached boy’s high school soccer at Estrella Foothills (Goodyear, Ariz.) and served on the women’s soccer coaching staff at Grand Canyon University.  As a player, Bentley played for the Region IV Olympic Development Team, the University of California-Riverside, and Yavapai Junior College before finishing his Collegiate Career at Corban University. He spent three seasons playing for the Cascade Surge (Salem, Ore.) of the Premier Developmental League in the USL, one season in which he doubled as a player and coach.

Bentley has also spent time living in Germany as a player and coach for the Athletes for Christ professional soccer ministry. He has taken numerous trips to Mexico, Canada, England and Austria as a player and soccer missionary. Brett is joined in Lubbock by his wife Kara.
