Lady Chaps Get First Road Win... Remain Perfect In Conference

LCU Gets Second Shutout of the Season

GAME INFORMATION

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
Jamie Boone came off the bench for the lone goal for the Lady Chaps.
Kate O'Gara assisted on Boone's goal.
• Goalkeeper Leslie Castellano recorded a one-save shutout.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The game was scoreless until Boone notched her fourth goal of the season 2:16 into the second half.
• LCU did not allow a shot on goal over the final 58:45.
• Morgan Foster had NU's lone shot on goal.    
 
GAME NOTES
• Boone now has three goals over the last two games, as she was coming off a two-goal performance Saturday against Oklahoma Christian. She was credited with the game winning goal. Boone now has 15 career goals and eight career game winning goals.
• LCU is not only 5-0-0 in Heartland Conference games this season, but they are 18-4-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games and 8-2-0 all-time in Heartland Conference road games.
• The 5-0-0 conference start marks the third consecutive season they have produced a 5-0-0 start to their Heartland Conference schedule. The opened the 2013 6-0-0 in conference and went 5-0-0 last season.
• The shutout win was LCU's 30th shutout in program history and the second of the season. It is the second in the career for LCU goalkeeper Leslie Castellano. She only had to make one save in the win.
• The game was scoreless at the half despite LCU holding an 11-1 advantage in shots.
• With the win, LCU is 1-2-1 on the road this season and are 16-14-1 all-time on the road under head coach Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 26-24-3 on the road.
• LCU has out-scored NU 6-0 in three all-time meetings and has an active series shutout sequence of 270 minutes. The Lady Chaps are 3-0-0 all-time against the Jets.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
1: In two games played in Wichita all-time in the series, the Jets have been held to a combined one shot on goal against LCU.
 
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian (7-2-3, 5-0-0) returns home for their final home game of the season Saturday, as they host Northwestern Oklahoma State for Senior Day. NWOSU moved to 2-10-1 after suffering their seventh straight shutout loss Thursday (3-0 loss to East Central).
