A Day At The Park... Lady Chaps Claim First Shutout Of The Season

Audra Park Scores Twice as TAMIU Held Without Shot on Goal

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
• Lubbock Christian produced their first clean sheet of the season.
Audra Park recorded her first multi-goal game of her career with a two-goal game.
• The Lady Chaps had a 28-2 advantage in shots on goal, with a 16-0 advantage in the second half.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• LCU, unbeaten when they score at least one goal, opened the game's scoring in the 21st minute with Park scoring her first of two consecutive goals. It took her 7:12 to score her second goal, as her goal in the 28th minute led to a 2-0 lead.
• In the 31st minute, an "own goal" led to LCU eventually taking a 3-0 lead into the break.
• The final LCU goal came in the 52nd minute with a pass by Lois Colley leading to a breakaway and goal Ashley Ledford for her second goal of the season.  
 
GAME NOTES
• The shutout win was LCU's 29th shutout in program history, but the first of the season and the first in the career for LCU goalkeeper Leslie Castellano. They don't get any easier for Castellano, who did not have to make a save.
• LCU is not only 2-0-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games this season, but they are 15-4-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games and 8-2-0 all-time in Heartland Conference home games.
• The two-goal game by Audra Park, playing in her 26th career game, was the first multi-goal game of her career. She entered the game with two goals in her career.
• The game started two hours late due to weather delays in the men's game played prior to the women's game.
• With the win, LCU moves to 4-0-2 at home this season and is now 21-6-4 all-time at home under Alex Denning. They are 24-14-6 all-time overall at home.
• LCU is now 3-0-0 all-time against TAMIU and have outscored the Dustdevils 9-0 in the all-time series.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
0: The Lady Chaps held TAMIU to two shots in the game and none made it on goal. Oct. 19, 2013 vs. Newman marked the last time LCU held an opponent without a shot on goal.
 
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian (4-2-3) remains home Thursday at 4:30 p.m. hosting Rogers State (0-11-0), who seeks their first win of the season.
