Late Rally Leads to LCU Finishing With Win and Winning Record

Chaps Score Three Third Period Goals... Two With a Man Down

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
Kwame Adu-Wusu scores the game winning goal in the 87th minute, as 3:41 remained.
Mbongeni Ndlovu led LCU with a three-point performance with an assist and the tying goal in the 85th minute.
Tommy Fogarty-Cameron opened LCU's scoring with his team-leading seventh goal.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• LCU trailed 1-0 at the half after a goal by WTAMU's Jake Wiffen in the 40th minute, but the Chaps responded with Tommy Fogarty-Cameron scoring on a penalty kick in the 71st minute.
• Ndlovu opened the late heroics with his sixth goal of the season, which tied the game at 2-2, as George Beasley had regained the lead for the Buffs in the 73rd minute.
• 2:05 following Ndlovu's goal, Adu-Wusu placed a header from Ndlovu into the net, which stood as the game winning goal.
 
GAME NOTES
• LCU closed out the season winning four out of five games to finish with a winning record on the season (8-7-2).
• Adu-Wusu was credited with the game winning goal. It was his third game winning goal of the season and second in consecutive games. He was credited with the game winning goal in the season opener and the season finale.
• LCU played the game's final 12:36 shorthanded after a second yellow card led to an ejection of Callum Chapman-Page in the 78th minute.
• The Chaps, who had not scored more than two goals in their last 14 consecutive games, ended that streak Monday by scoring three goals and all were recorded in the second half.
• Fogarty-Cameron ends up as LCU's scoring leader on the season, finishing with 18 points off seven goals and four assists.
• LCU is now 2-1-0 all-time against WTAMU and the result marked the first time the road team won in the series.
• The Chaps are now 3-3-0 in regular season finales.
• LCU is 6-3-0 this season in road competition. They are 11-5-0 on the road all-time under head coach Lee Williams (5-3-0 under Williams in non-conference road games) and they are 31-17-5 all-time in road play.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
2 penalty shots: The penalty shot by Fogarty-Cameron was his first attempted in his LCU career. LCU is now 2-for-2 as a team on conversions this season Last season they only had one penalty kick attempt. Lennard Hansen converted on an attempt in the season opener against Southwest (N.M.).
 
UP NEXT
The game concludes LCU's 2015-2016 season. They did not qualify for the conference tournament.
