LCU Has Shutout the Opposition in Three of Four Home Games

GAME INFORMATION

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
• The Chaps ended a program record winless streak at six games (0-5-1) with the win.
Cedric Omoregie's goal was the difference to lead LCU.
• LCU goalkeeper Fernando Rios produced five saves en route to his fourth shutout of the season and of his career.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• After a scoreless first half, Omoregie gave LCU a 1-0 lead with a goal 7:23 into the second half assisted by Chance McCarter.
• Oklahoma Christian appeared to tie the game at 1-1 with just under 1:30 remaining, but the Eagles were offsides and the goal was negated.
• LCU produced five shots on goal and all were from two individuals, as Omoregie had a trio of shots on goal and Conner Dean had two.
 
GAME NOTES
• Omoregie's goal was his second of the season, which co-leads the team. It was the senior's third career goal as a Chap.
• The assist credited to McCarter marks his first point of the season and his second career point (The last assist for the junior was during his freshman campaign in 2014).
• The shutout win for LCU was their fourth of the season. It was LCU's 27th shutout in program history (15th at home) and the fourth under head coach Paul Gilbert.
• LCU has shutout the opposition in three of four home contests this season.
• The Chaps are now 19-13-1 all-time in Heartland Conference contests and 8-7-1 all-time in Heartland Conference home games.
• Rios made five saves in the shutout win. The five saves is his highest save output in his past five games.
• LCU improved to 6-1-0 all-time against Oklahoma Christian (4-1-0 at home).
• The Chaparrals moved to 2-1-1 at home this season and are now 28-16-8 all-time at home overall.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
4 – With the shutout win, LCU has shutout Oklahoma Christian in four of the seven all-time meetings.
 
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian (3-8-1, 2-5-1) returns to the road, where they have played eight of this season's 12 games, heading to Laredo, Texas to face Texas A&M International Thursday evening.
