Lady Chaps Cool Off Jets Again

Four All-Time Meetings... All Shutout Wins For LCU

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
Claudia Sanchez notched her second goal of the season and it proved to be the difference.
Audra Park assisted on the goal for her first point of the season.
• LCU's Sarah Palmer claimed her fifth shutout of the season and it came on three saves. It is her second consecutive shutout.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Sanchez scored her second goal of the season and 16th of her career in the game's 20th minute.
• LCU outshot the Jets 26-7, with a 9-3 shots on goal advantage.
• Freshman goalkeeper Palmer stopped a pair of shots in the first half and one in the second half for the shutout.
 
GAME NOTES
• The Lady Chaps have combined for 129 shots and 41 shots on goal in their last three games. Prior to the mark, LCU had a total of 67 shots and 31 shots on goal in their combined first five games.
• LCU recorded their fifth shutout win of the season. The shutout was LCU's 35th shutout overall in program history.
• With consecutive games resulting in a defensive shutout, LCU has now gone 214:39 without allowing a goal. The season high is 296:03.
• LCU improved to 2-1 in games decided by one goal.
• The Lady Chaps move to 21-9-1 all-time in Heartland Conference games and 13-2-1 in Heartland Conference home games.
• With the win, LCU moves to 4-0-1 at home this season and is now 28-6-5 all-time at home under Alex Denning. They are 31-14-7 all-time overall at home. LCU is unbeaten in their last 14 home games (11-0-3).
• The meeting was the fourth all-time meeting between the two programs and LCU remains unbeaten (4-0-0) against Newman. The Lady Chaps have out-scored NU 7-0 all-time and the series shutout sequence is at 360 minutes.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
2: The Lady Chaps committed just two fouls in the game. It is the second time LCU has committed two or less fouls in the game. Their season low is one from their game at Dallas Baptist (Sept. 7).
 
UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian (5-2-1, 3-2-1) remains home Saturday and will host Rogers State (4-4-1, 1-4-1) for a Heartland Conference game at 1 p.m. It will be Senior Recognition Day.
