• Lubbock Christian University was unable to pick up a win for the third consecutive match as they fell 2-0 to Texas A&M International University Thursday afternoon at LCU Soccer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Texas A&M International marked their first goal just after halftime in the game's 49
th minute. Marcelo Machado was played a ball just outside the 18-yard box, from David Martinez, that he tucked away for the match's game-winner.
• Alan Rivera sealed the contest for TAMIU in the 84
th minute on a rebounded shot. Rivera found himself in the correct position when LCU keeper
Parker O'Quinn deflected a shot that fell near the penalty spot for Rivera to finish.
GAME NOTES
• LCU's loss marks the second of the series against the Dustdevils. The Chaparrals series lead now stands at 3-2-0 all-time over TAMIU.
• Lubbock Christian has now been shut-out on four occasions in the 2017 campaign and twice since beginning their Heartland Conference schedule.
• Though this was not the first time for the Chaps to be held scoreless this season, the result does snap a seven-game scoring streak for LCU that dates back to a 1-0 loss to Rogers State at the beginning of the Heartland Conference season (9/14/17).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
2: The loss to Texas A&M International marks the second time this year that LCU has lost by a margin of more than one goal. The Chap defense has not allowed more than two goals in any contest this season and has given up two goals in five of their seven losses.
UP NEXT
The Chaparrals will have a quick turnaround as they gear up for another Heartland Conference tilt Saturday against St. Mary's University. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. against the Rattlers at LCU Soccer Field. Lubbock Christian holds a 3-2-0 series advantage over StMU, but has lost the prior two meetings. The most recent matchup showdown took place in the 2016 season where the Rattlers handed LCU a 5-1 defeat in San Antonio, Texas. Of the five games in series history, LCU holds a 1-1-0 record against at home.
