LCU HIGHLIGHTS
• Lubbock Christian University pushed their shutout streak to four games after a 1-0 double overtime victory over St. Mary's University Saturday afternoon at LCU Soccer Field.
• The Lady Chap offense continuously kept the Rattlers on their heels and finished the day with 19 shots, four of which found the frame.
• LCU's win moves their conference record to 6-3-1 and jumps the squad up the Heartland Conference standings, tying them for second place with Rogers State.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Once again, Lubbock Christian struggled to find the net against St. Mary's. However, the Lady Chaparrals persevered and ultimately found the net in the 104
th minute with a finish from
Claudia Sanchez.
Zaida Lopez received a long ball inside the St. Mary's 18-yard box before splitting the Rattler defense with a pass to Sanchez. Sanchez then baited the StMU keeper out of the net before cutting to her right and tucking away the golden-goal dagger.
GAME NOTES

Hannah Wise provided her ninth clean sheet of the season with one save on the day.
• LCU has now won two matches this season in a second overtime period. Prior to this season, Lubbock Christian had only won two matches when being forced into extra time.
• The Lady Chaparral defense did their diligence and held the Rattlers to a single shot on the day. Their performance marks the second match this year in which LCU has only allowed one shot by an opponent.
• Sanchez' goal makes her Lubbock Christian's leading goal scorer with four goals on the year. The senior's game-winner also ties her for first on the roster with eight points.
• The Lady Chap's nine shutouts marks a new program record for shutouts in a single season.
• Lubbock Christian's women now stand with 19 points in conference standings, just four points behind first place Dallas Baptist.

396:43: The shut out continues a 396:43 sequence for Wise and marks the second four match streak without allowing a goal by an opponent.

LCU will now look ahead toward a two-match road trip beginning with Heartland Conference tilt against Dallas Baptist Thursday, Oct. 19. Kickoff against the Patriots is set for 7 p.m. at Patriot Soccer Field in Dallas, Texas. Lubbock Christian will be looking for revenge after a 2-1 loss to Dallas Baptist at home earlier this season (9/16/17). The LCU women are 0-6-1 all-time against DBU with three of those losses coming on the Patriots home field. Dallas Baptist has outscored the Lady Chaps by a 20-4 margin throughout the rivalry.
