Lady Chaps and Lightening Ground Jets

Wichita, Kansas (March 24, 2017) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaps held a 6-2 lead over the Newman Jets after five innings of play at the Newman Softball Field in Wichita Kansas when an electrical storm moved in forcing a delay and eventually calling the game complete with the teams unable to re-take the field.

BEHIND
The Lady Chaps (20-10) trailed 0-1 after one inning of play with Newman (7-26) getting on the board first. LCU would respond in the second inning when Addison Ard drove in Alyssa Hanks. However, the Jets scored a run in the third inning to once again take the lead 2-1.

TWO OUT RALLY

Then a double-steal allowed Adelae Vayas to steal second and Beuthien to steal home. Hanks would double to center field to bring in Vayas and cap the scoring with LCU up 6-2.
