Lady Chaps Downed, But Not Done

LCU Faces St. Edward's in Austin, Taking the No.4-Seed to the Conference Tournament

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Hannah Wise had four saves off five shots on goal, as LCU used both Wise and Tory Hudgens in goal for a third consecutive game.  Wise started the game and then reentered, but was tacked with the loss by allowing the game-winning goal.
- LCU claimed the No.4 spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament, which begins Thursday in Austin, Texas.
- LCU was outshot 14-11 but was able to get four of their 11 shots on frame.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rogers broke the scoreless tie when Kori Watters found the bottom right side of the net in the 53rd minute.
- The Hillcats added another goal 13 minutes later, as Hannah Mushisky made it 2-0 in the 76th minute.

GAME NOTES
- LCU finished 7-3 over the last final 10 games of the season after going 2-6 in the first eight.
- LCU closed the regular season 9-9-0 overall, with a 3-5 road record.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
12: Teams combined for 12 shots in the first half, with just four on goal.
3: Third time in four years LCU has clinched a spot in the Heartland Conference Tournament.
3: Allison Scott had three shots for LCU and was one of four Lady Chaps to have one shot on frame.
5: LCU was held scoreless for a fifth time this season and the second time by RSU, who swept the regular season series.

UP NEXT
Lubbock Christian now gets set for the Heartland Conference Tournament. The Lady Chaps will be the No.4-seed and will face No.1-seed and host St. Edward's at 1 p.m. Thursday. LCU is 0-2 all-time at the Heartland Conference Tournament and 0-1 all-time in the tournament against St. Edward's (a 1-0 loss in 2015).
