Jets Get Pinched on St. Patty's Day, Lady Chaps Complete Sweep

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 17, 2018) - Home runs from Morgan Dufour, KK Lopez-Lui and Sara Ralston helped the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals beat Newman 9-1 via the mercy-rule to complete the St. Patrick's Day weekend sweep at PlainsCapital Park.

HR
In the first inning, KK Lopez-Lui hit a ball to left field to drive in Megan Darling and give LCU (17-9, 8-6) a 1-0 lead. The Jets (5-26, 2-14) answered with a run in the top of the third inning, as Emma Eck drew a bases-loaded walk to score Taylor Mannis and tie the game. In the bottom of the inning, Sydney Beuthien doubled and it was immediately followed by Morgan Dufour's 12th home run of the season (tied for 4th most in NCAA Div-II this season) to put LCU up 3-1.
