Weather Delay Unable To Slow Down Chap Offense

LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- After a late night of play due to a weather delay in Dallas, Texas, Lubbock Christian University registered their fourth shutout victory of the season following a 3-0 win over Dallas Baptist University.
- LCU tied a season-high eight shots on goal in their effort over the Patriots.
- Richie Vaca-Cordova led all Chap players tallying three points in the match with a goal and an assist in the second period.
- The defensive efforts from the Chaparrals left DBU's squad with zero shots on goal for the evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Louis Callaghan opened up the scoring for Lubbock Christian with a 20thminute finish. Callaghan was provided a pass from Emilio Marti for a shot five yards away from the goal.
- With their narrow lead intact, Vaca-Cordova widened the margin for LCU with an unassisted goal of his own in the 87thminute.
- Jamal Yates then decided to hop into the scoring column for his second goal of the year on a pass from Vaca-Cordova, 38-seconds later, giving the Chaps a 3-0 advantage before time expired.

GAME NOTES
- The victory marks LCU's third performance of the season winning by at least three goals.
- Lubbock Christian improves to a 4-1-1 overall record and a 2-0-1 mark in Heartland Conference standings. With the win, LCU also takes sole custody of first place within the Western Division.
- Braxton Thorne completes his fourth career clean sheet without being forced to make a single save against the Patriots.
- After a lightning delay prior to the beginning of the match, the Chaps were finally able to take the field at 8:45 p.m. as opposed to their originally 7:30 p.m. start time.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
13: After tacking on three goals against DBU, Lubbock Christian has now outscored their opponents by a 13-goal margin. The Chaps have recorded 16 goals while limiting their opposition to three.

UP NEXT
Up next for the Chaparrals will be another Heartland road matchup, this time against St. Edward's University. Lubbock Christian will make their way to Austin, Texas for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff against the Hilltoppers at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
