HOW IT HAPPENED
- LCU scored its earliest goal in a game this season against the Patriots as Abdou Joof found the back of the net just one minute and 43 seconds into the match. Tariq Bakkali assisted on the goal
- The Patriots did not take long to respond, scoring the tying goal in the sixth minute off the foot of Birkir Eydal
- LCU's offense controlled the ball much of the rest of the half but had just one shot on goal from Richie Vaca-Cordova in the 43rd minute before the horn sounded for halftime. UTT had shots on goal in the 35th and 37th minutes, but both were saved by Braxton Thorne
- The Chaps continued to possess the ball for much of the first 20 minutes of the second half but could not put a shot on frame
- UT Tyler got their first lead of the day in the 69th minute as Eydal found the back of the net again
- LCU bounced back just over a minute later on a goal from Caram Carneiro Alves. Fernando Flores assisted the score
- Joof looked to have scored the game-winner with close to 15 minutes left in regulation, but was called offsides, and the game went into overtime
- Lubbock Christian earned a pair of corner kicks in the first overtime, but neither team put a shot on goal
- Vaca-Cordova ended the game in the 106th minute, scoring the golden goal with an assist from Flores and Carneiro Alves
