HOW IT HAPPENED
- Arely Jiminez got Lubbock Christian's first shot in the sixth minute but missed high, followed by several shots from St. Edward's that either missed or were saved by Lady Chap goalkeeper Hannah Wise
- Wise made two more saves in the 24th and 37th minutes before the Hilltoppers finally broke the scoreless tie on a goal from Ashley Wilson in the 38th minute, sending the two teams into halftime with SEU leading 1-0
- Jiminez had another shot early in the second half, but SEU's defense kept LCU at bay for another 30 minutes before they finally broke through
- LCU scored in the 39th minute off a corner kick. Freshman Celia Duarte served the ball in, which went over the keeper and off a jumble of bodies to bounce into the net and tie the game
- St. Edward's bounce back, however and retook the lead three minutes later, as India Wentz served a cross into the box and Sarah Gunderson headed it home
- The Hilltoppers added the third and final goal with less than a minute to play
LCU HIGHLIGHTS

- Wise made four saves in the loss, bringing her season total to 57 and her career total to 166
LADY CHAP NOTES
- Lubbock Christian's five losses this season match a program-low, which they set in 2012 and matched in 2016
- The Lady Chaps scored at least one goal in a game for the 17th time this season, avoiding being shut out in all but three of their games
- Duarte's goal was a nice bookend to her season, as she scored in the first and last LCU games of the year, with another five goals in between. Her 22 points are the most by an LCU freshman since teammate Haley Knesek had 29 in 2016
- Shadiana Haney played all 90 minutes of the game and ended the season as the LCU field player leader in minutes played with 1688
- The loss was Lubbock Christian's first in 10 games. They last lost on October 10 at Angelo State
- Head coach Alex Denning wrapped up his eighth season at the helm of the LCU women's soccer program, holding a 103-85-18 overall record as a head coach, including a 79-49-14 record while at Lubbock Christian
