LCU Highlights:
Turning Point:
An error on a fielder's choice prolonged the bottom of the third inning, as LCU scored four unearned run and all with two outs to fulfill a five-run inning to tie the game at 5-5.

How it Happened:
  • A double-steal in the first inning allowed the Rattlers to score the first run. They added to the 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning with a four-run inning. StMU produced five hit in the third inning and a two-run single by Juliana Cerda played into the scoring to build the lead to 5-0.
  • LCU came back to tie the game in the bottom of the third inning. After the infield error on Lindzi Clemmer's fielder's choice, StMU pitcher Staci Johns walked two straight batters leading to LCU's first run. Alexis Reed hit an infield single to score a run and Breanna Anderson followed with a two-run double to tie the game at 5-5.
  • LCU took their first lead in the fourth inning with a two-out two-run home run by Lopez-Liu.
  • The lead was short-lived, as the Rattlers responded with a three-run fifth inning. LCU recorded two quick outs, but then consecutive walks followed by an error and a double by Cerda gave StMU an 8-7 lead.
  • The bottom of the sixth inning started off with an infield single by Wysocki. She would score the tying run off a single from Clemmer.
  • Megan Darling walked to lead off the eighth inning, placing the winning run aboard. She reached third base on a double hit by Clemmer and scored on a walk-off single to left centerfield produced by Lopez-Liu.

 Inside the Numbers:
  • Savannah Wysocki produced her fifth triple of the game.  It was one of seven extra-base hits in the series for LCU. The Lady Chaps were out-hit 33-22 in the three-game set in Lubbock, but LCU had a 7-3 in extra-base hits (extra-base hits from six different players), which had LCU with a .410 - .375 advantage in slugging and a .396 - .382 advantage in on-base percentage. The on-base percentage was also beefed by a 15-6 advantage of walks drawn by LCU.
  • KK Lopez-Liu's homer was her third of the season (co-leads team) and 11th of her LCU career.
  • StMU had four multi-hit performers, with Juliana Cerda going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
  • Breeana Anderson was 2-for-2 in the game in two-out at-bats, as LCU was 5-for-11 in two-out at-bats, which led to six two-out-RBI. They had a 10-2 advantage in the series in two-out-RBI (Alexis Reed with three).
  • The win marks LCU's second non-run-rule walk-off victory of the season. LCU last walked it off against Southern Nazarene on Feb. 2 and they are 2-0 in extra-inning contests.
