Turning Point:
Daelyn Denny's sac-bunt attempt with a runner at first base and no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning resulted in a bunt-single setting up the game winning run in scoring position with no outs.
How it Happened:
- With two outs in the top of the second inning, Savannah Wysocki was able to get a hard hit ground ball through the left side and off the glove of diving shortstop Bridget White, which allowed Morgan Dufour to score from second base.
- With two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning, OC's Brie Dunckel hit an RBI single up the middle to tie the game 1-1.
- In the top of the seventh inning, OC led off the inning with a pair of singles (one on a sacrifice bunt attempt). A sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position and Sierra Schultz was able to get a walk-off single with a hit through the left side.
Inside the Numbers:
- LCU (now 1-1 in neutral site games this season) fell to 8-8 in one-run games. Six of LCU's last eight losses have been one-run losses and all four of their losses this season to OC have been one-run losses (two walk-off losses).
- The contest was LCU's ninth in which their defense did not commit an error and their first loss when the defense did not make an error (8-1).
- The game was LCU's fourth game this season in which their offense was held to a run or less.
- LCU fell to 24-3 when leading after four innings and 4-2 when tied after six innings.
- Lindsey Stoeckel and Kayla Eichler each went 2-for-3 for OC.
- In the bottom of the second inning with OC having runners at first and second base, the Lady Eagles hit into a 1-3-6 triple play. It was the first triple play turned in LCU program history.
- The Lady Chaps stranded 12 runners on base, matching a season high from Mar. 15 vs. Newman.
- LCU had their all-time record move to 9-5 in Heartland Conference Tournament play.
