MOBILE, Ala. (January 29, 2020) – No.19 Lubbock Christian had a pair of wins on the opening day of action, as they defeated No.7 (NAIA) Mobile 5-2 in an exhibition game (regular season opener for Mobile) and followed with a 5-0 victory in their regular season opener against Mississippi College.

In the fifth inning, LCU hit for the cycle in the inning, as Skyler Herrera (triple),
Angela Donaldson (double),
Angela Donaldson (home run) and
Alivia Villarreal (single) completed the task, which helped result in four-run inning.
How it Happened:
- Tayla Lee provided LCU a 1-0 lead with a hit into centerfield in the top of the fourth inning.
- LCU had a four-run fifth inning, as LCU hit for the cycle in the inning (and with the top four batters in the order). Makemson and Donaldson each drove in runs during their extra-base hits.
- UM responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with four hits, leading to a pair of runs for their first and only runs of the game.

A three-run bottom of the third inning helped LCU extend a 1-0 lead and provided pitcher
Taylor Franco the cushion needed for LCU.
How it Happened:
- Wysocki was involved in four of the five scoring plays for LCU. She was running to third base in the bottom of the first inning, as a throw from right field went wide of the bag, and Wysocki advanced home for a 1-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Wysocki tripled down the left field line, allowing Alexa Riggs to score from first base. Wysocki ended up scoring on an error committed during a stolen base attempt. The scoring in the inning came to a close on a hard hits grounder to the left side, which scored Angela Donaldson from second base.
- Wysocki's final scoring play came in the sixth inning, as she hit a single through the left side to score Kamryn Gibbs.
Inside the Numbers:
- Pitcher Taylor Franco struck out the first five batters faced and struck out 10 of the first 14 batters she faced. Franco notched her second career complete game shutout, going seven innings and allowing four hits. She finished with 12 strikeouts, which was two shy of her career high (14). .
- Savannah Wysocki's three hits was a single-game career high for her
- LCU moved to 1-0 all-time against MC and to 3-1 against Mississippi based program.
- The Lady Chaps win improved them to 14-0 all-time in season openers.
