LUBBOCK, Texas - St. Mary's scored two goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half to pull away from the Lady Chaps 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference women's soccer tournament on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
It was the Lady Chaps (8-3-8) who came out firing, with
Julie Shahi setting up
Celia Duarte for the first goal of the match just 2:20 into the match, giving LCU the 1-0 lead.
In the 15th minute, Sydney Varela got the first shot on goal for the Rattlers, but Abby Kone made the save to keep St. Mary's (12-3-4) off the board.
