LCU steps into Saturday's contest 4-3-3 overall and 1-1-1 in Lone Star action, which has them seated at fifth in the conference. The Patriots head into the match Saturday holding a 2-4-3 overall record and 0-1-2 conference record. In their last match, UT Tyler was on the losing end of a narrow 2-1 score at the hands of Midwestern State. The Patriots have yet to capture a conference victory, despite playing competitively in every match, drawing to Dallas Baptist (3-3) and West Texas A&M (1-1) and suffering a 2-0 loss to St. Mary's.

The Chaparrals and the Patriots have a shorter history than most other Lone Star Conference opponents, beginning their series in 2019. Throughout six total matches, Lubbock Christian is unbeaten against UT Tyler, boasting a 5-0-1 record against the Patriots. The last meeting between the two ended in the series' only tie, with a 0-0 final score in Tyler on Oct. 14, 2023.

Lubbock Christian is led offensively by Geoffroy Letienne and Justin Martinez, who each have netted three goals for the Chaparrals. That number also has them ranked 12th and 13th in the conference respectively. Manu Nunez has been an excellent facilitator for a potent Chaparral offense, racking up three assists this season, which has him leading the team and ranked eighth in the Lone Star. The Chaparrals have benefited from standout goalkeeper Connor Pettigrew, who leads the conference in total saves with 43 this season. Additionally, Pettigrew ranks in the top three for saves per game, averaging 4.3 per match.

UT Tyler's offense is headed by Julian Smith, as he ranks 10th in the conference in shots (18) and 12th in shots on goal (8). Much like Lubbock Christian, the Patriots have a solid goalkeeper of their own in Alan Johnson, who ranks 10th in the Lone Star Conference in saves with 24 and also ranks sixth in saves per game with an average of 3.0 per match.

Lubbock Christian and UT Tyler will square off for a match that could help propel either team up a heavily competitive Lone Star Conference. The first touch will be at approximately 3:30 p.m. from the LCU Soccer and Track Complex. FloSports will carry the game online and it can be viewed at lcuchaps.com/live.
