LUBBOCK, Texas (February 17, 2024) – Oklahoma Christian's Jill Dickson and Grace Anderson combined to throw a shutout on Saturday, as the No. 22 Oklahoma Christian Eagles blanked Lubbock Christian University 4-0 in the rubber match of their three-game Lone Star Conference series at a frigid Maner Park.
Sophomore Ashlinn Hamilton (0-1) made her second collegiate start and took the loss in the circle for Lubbock Christian (2-5,1-2). Kamryn Gibbs (2-for-2) and Tiarra Delrosario (2-for-4) led the way offensively for the Chaparrals, as each had a pair of hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lubbock Christian had missed opportunities throughout the game, going a total of 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and 2-for-13 with runners on base. The Lady Chaps had at least one runner on base in six of the seven innings, but was unable to get any runners home. Aaliyah Brown had a pair of RBI, hitting an RBI-single in the first inning and a RBI-double in the third inning for a 2-0 OC lead. They grabbed a pair of insurance runs in the seventh inning as Kristen Whitehouse followed an RBI-double from Whitney Wald with a sacrifice fly to complete a two-run inning.
