LUBBOCK, Texas (February 18, 2024) – It was a successful home opener for Lubbock Christian University, as they completed a 7-0 sweep of Weatherford College Sunday at Penny Gullo Tennis Center.
The Lady Chaps not only claimed all seven points, but they won all nine matches. LCU's No.23 nationally ranked doubles team of

Anastasiia Opolska won 6-3, and the doubles point was claimed as
Michelle Trochez /
Andrea De Bernardo and
Lauren Shinneman /
Allison Lent each won their matches with 6-0 wins.
LCU cruised in singles as well. De Bernardo (No.1 singles), Jacquemin (No.2 singles),
Maya Adler (No.3 singles),
Mariia Koroleva (no.4 singles),
Hannah Quick (No.5 singles) and
Taylor Nichols (No.6 singles) all won their matches in two sets. Quick and Nichols each won their matches with a pair of 6-0 set wins.
The Lady Chaps claimed their third sweep of the season (first 7-0 sweep of the season). It was their fifth sweep since the program's rebirth (last season) and third 7-0 sweep. LCU claimed a 7-0 sweep over Weatherford College last season. WC came into Sunday's contest ranked No.5 in ITA JUCO national rankings.
Jacquemin / Opolska claimed their fifth consecutive doubles win and are 13-2 overall on the season (5-0 in duals). De Bernardo / Trochez improved to 11-3 and they lead LCU in duals wins, improving to 6-0 in duals on the season. In singles, Adler (11-2) and De Bernardo (11-4) co-lead the team (with Opolska) in singles wins on the season with 11 (the trio are each 5-0 in duals). Quick and Nichols were each making their duals season debut and each open the season 1-0 in duals.
The Lady Chaps are 6-0 on the season. They head to the Metroplex this week for a trio of duals, beginning with a match Friday at 1 p.m. against Harding at Bent Tree Country Club in Dallas.
