ORLANDO, Fla. (March 19, 2024) – The No.11 Lady Chaparrals of Lubbock Christian University went 4-1 during their Spring Break slate of matches in Florida, as the contests closed out their pre-conference schedule, which gets underway Wednesday in Wichita Falls, Texas.
No.28 Augustana 4 – LCU 1
Following their 6-1 win over Rockhurst on Sunday, March 10, the Lady Chaps had a day off before facing No.28 Augustana, who they would fall to 4-1 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Oshini Herath claimed the win in No.1-doubles, but the Vikings came back to win No.3-doubles and the No.2-doubles to take a 1-0 dual lead heading into singles play. The Vikings were able to clinch the point with an 8-6 tiebreaking win in the No.2-doubles match.
LCU tied the dual at 1-1, as the No.6-singles match was won by Opolska. It would turn out to be the lone bright spot in the dual for LCU, as No.10 Flo Hadjigeorgiou won the No.1-singles, No.39 Senem Ocal won No.2-singles match for a 3-1 Vikings lead. Augustana, playing to clinch, sealed the win with a three-set win in No.3-singles
LCU 7 – Minnesota State Moorhead 0
LCU had a good bounce-back following the loss to Augustana, as later in the day they swept MSU Moorhead 7-0.

Lauren Shinneman (No.3-doubles) each won their match for a 1-0 LCU lead heading into singles.
LCU won all six singles matches and all in straight sets.
Michelle Trochez (No.1-singles), Herath (No.2-singles), Koroleva (No.3-singles),
Hannah Quick (No.4-singles), Nichols (No.5-singles) and Lent (No.6-singles) enjoyed singles victories in the sweep.
LCU 7 – West Chester 0
The Lady Chaps enjoyed another sweep as they returned to USTA National Campus in Orlando Wednesday and cruised past West Chester 7-0.

Anastasiia Khrustaleva (No.1-doubles) and Koroleva / Nichols (No.2-doubles) stamped wins for a 1-0 LCU lead in the dual.
In singles, the lone match needing a tiebreaker was in No.5-singles, as Quick used a 10-8 tiebreaker to win the match. Herath (No.1-singles),
Maya Adler (No.2-singles), Opolska (No.3-singles), Koroleva (No.4-singles) and Nichols (No.6-singles) each win their singles match in straight sets.
LCU 4 – St. Thomas Aquinas College 3
The Lady Chaps closed their Sunshine State stay Thursday edging STAC at National Campus.
LCU had to battle back from a 1-0 deficit after the Spartans took the doubles point to start the dual. Opolska / Herath was the lone doubles squad to win their match, as they won the No.1-doubles match.
All of the singles matches were won in straight sets. Dropping the doubles point appeared to be no big deal after Opolska (No.4-singles), No.54
Andrea De Bernardo (No.1-singles) and Koroleva (No.6-singles) won their matches to give LCU a 3-1 lead. The Spartans surged back with wins in No.3-singles and No.2-singles to tie the dual at 3-3. Adler claimed the dual for LCU in No.5-singles, as she won 7-5, 6-3 to clinch the dual for LCU's fifth 4-3 win of the season.
Toss in their Rockhurst match and LCU went 22-6 overall in singles matches and 9-6 in doubles matches in Florida. Opolska / Herath was 4-0 in doubles, going 3-0 in No.1-doubles play. Opolska also went 4-0 in singles in Florida. Koroleva (4-0) and Adler (3-0) each were perfect with at least three singles wins in Florida.
The Chaps open Lone Star Conference play Wednesday at No.5 Midwestern State with a 15-1 overall record on the season. Opolska leads LCU in singles victories this season with 18 (18-4). She has won her last seven singles matches and is 12-1 in duals. Koroleva, who is 11-1 in duals this season, is 16-3 overall in singles. Adler also has 16 wins in singles play (16-4). De Bernardo, who is 15-7 in singles, is 7-2 in No.1-singles.
In doubles, Opolska is 18-4 this season, going 14-3 when partnered with Jacquemin and 5-1 with Herath (Opolska is 4-1 when paired with each playing in a No.1-doubles match). De Bernardo / Trochez are 12-6 in doubles and 2-0 when playing as No.1-doubles.
Their match at Midwestern State is scheduled for 1 p.m. at MSU Tennis Center in Wichita Falls, Texas. LCU went 1-1 last season against MSU, falling in the regular season (6-1 on Mar. 28, 2023 in Lubbock) before revenging with a 4-3 win at the LSC Championships in Arlington, Texas (Apr. 20, 2023). Following the match, LCU heads to San Antonio, Texas, where they will face St. Mary's Saturday. StMU is 2-0 all-time against LCU, as the Rattlers defeated LCU 4-3 in Lubbock (Mar. 28, 2023) and 4-0 at the LSC Championships (Apr. 21, 2023).
