SAN ANTONIO, Texas (March 23, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University suffered consecutive losses for the first time this season, as the Lady Chaparrals fell 5-2 in a Lone Star Conference dual against St. Mary's at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
The No.36 nationally ranked doubles team of LCU's
Andrea De Bernardo and
Michelle Trochez claimed a win in No.2-doubles, but the doubles point for a 1-0 dual lead was already decided, as StMU won the No.1-doubles and No.3-doubles matches.
Wins in singles by
Anastasiia Opolska (No.5-singles) and
Mariia Koroleva (No.6-singles) tied the dual at 2-2, but the Rattlers responded with wins over the final three singles matches for the 5-2 win.
The victories by Opolska (20-4) and Koroleva (17-3) have them leading LCU in singles victories on the season. Koroleva improved to 6-0 on the season in No.6-doubles.
The loss has LCU with 15-3 overall record and 0-2 in LSC duals. LCU falls to 0-3 all-time against the Rattlers.
