Dust in The Wind... LCU Falls to Dustdevils at Gusty Maner Park

LCU Has Seven-Game Home Win Streak Snapped

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 24, 2024) – It was a windy afternoon Sunday at Manor Park, as Lubbock Christian University and Texas A&M International closed their three-game Lone Star Conference series. The Dustdevils were able to avoid a series sweep by holding LCU to a run on three hits and claiming a 2-1 win over the Lady Chaparrals.

Senior Taryn Westbrook (3-4) started and took the loss in the circle for Lubbock Christian (18-13, 17-10). Freshman Reese Farrar was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 4.1 shutout innings while allowing three hits and striking out four (no walks).

HOW IT HAPPENED
A wild pitch in the second inning and a solo home run from Victoria Gonzalez in the third inning allowed the Dustdevils to take the first lead of the game. LCU cut the deficit in half with a leadoff home run from Skylar Herrera off Tessa Ramirez in the fourth inning. Herrera's home run would be the final hit in the game for LCU, as Ramirez went the remaining 4.0 innings in the circle without allowing a hit.
