LCU Returns Home to Face Dallas Baptist in Final Non-Conference Showdown

LUBBOCK, Texas – Lubbock Christian University returns home for the final non-conference contest of the regular season, as they host Lone Star Conference opponent Dallas Baptist for a 7:30 p.m. start at LCU Soccer & Track Complex.

Notes:
  • LCU's goalkeeper, Connor Pettigrew, ranks prominently on a national level. Pettigrew ranks 8th nationally and leads the conference with three shutouts, maintaining an impressive save percentage of 0.778. Pettigrew also leads the LSC in saves (28, which ranks 12th nationally), second in saves per game (4.67, 38th nationally), fifth in save percentage (77.8%, 58th nationally) and seventh in goals against average (1.33). He is the reigning LSC Goalkeeper of the Week, as last week he notched his third shutout of the season with a three-save effort against Hawai'i Pacific. He followed with a stellar performance in LCU's 2-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene, as he made a critical save on a penalty shot in the 33rd minute, preserving LCU's 2-0 lead at a crucial point in the match. In total, he recorded six saves in the game for nine saves on the week, achieving an impressive .900 save percentage across the games.
  • Wednesday's game follows a stretch where LCU (3-2-1) has played several tough opponents, including a notable 2-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene Saturday to build their win streak to two games. LCU jumps into conference play a week from Wednesday in San Antonio, Texas at St. Mary's.
  • LCU has produced six goals on the season and all six are from six different individuals. Nako Amare leads the team in points with three (1g,1a).
  • The Chaps were picked to finish sixth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll.

  • Peyton Voelker has been one of the standout players for DBU this season. He has played in four games, contributing three goals and one assist, making him the team's leading scorer with seven points.
