HOBBS, N.M. (October 10, 2025) – The Lubbock Christian University men's cross country team ran its third and final race of the regular season, competing at the Thunderbird Open.

As a team, the Chaps placed fourth with a total time of 2:11.33 and 90 points. Host school New Mexico Junior College won the event, followed by South Plains College and Odessa College.

Kaleb Gaona was the top finisher for the Chaps in 12
th place with a time of 25:27.2 in the 8K race. He was just ahead of two other LCU runners –
Matthew Gordon and
Samuel Bryan – who finished right behind Gaona in 13
th and 14
th, respectively.

Aiden Zingone finished with a time of 26:36.8 to place 24
th, and
Alfons Rawall came in 29
th with a time of 27:24.3.

Micah Zapata and
Rylan Brajnik were the final to Chaparrals to earn points at the race, finishing in 38
th and 44
th, respectively.

Lubbock Christian's next competition is Oct. 25, when they travel to Fort Worth for the Lone Star Conference Championships.
