LUBBOCK, Texas (November 1, 2025) — Lubbock Christian University secured a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian University behind
Bonnie Miller's game-winner on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
The decisive goal came in the second half, with the Lady Chaps outshooting the Eagles 19-6. The home team's defense remained steadfast, aided by a shutout performance from their goalkeeper, who made two crucial saves.
The Lady Chaps improved to 8-6-2 overall and 6-4-2 in conference play. The Eagles fell to 6-9-1 overall and 4-8-0 in conference play.
Bonnie Miller scored one goal on five shots, with two being on target, and secured the game-winning goal.
Emma Wright recorded a shutout with two saves, facing six shots during her 90 minutes in goal.
Logan Holloway contributed offensively with two shots, including one on goal.
Emma Best generated three shots, all on target, during the match.
The match commenced with both teams showcasing solid defensive efforts in the opening half. Wright made an early save in the fifth minute, denying a shot from Oklahoma Christian's Caid Jefferson.
The Lady Chaps applied pressure offensively, with Best taking two shots on goal, both saved by Oklahoma Christian's Breanna Wooten, including a key save at the 34 minute mark. Despite the Lady Chaps' efforts, the half concluded scoreless, with the scoreboard reading 0-0.
Both teams remained scoreless through the first 30 minutes of the second half until Lubbock Christian secured the decisive moment at the 76' mark, breaking the deadlock. Prior to the goal, the Chaps maintained pressure with multiple shots, including attempts by Holloway and
Julia Pesina, all saved by the Eagles' goalkeeper, Wooten.
Oklahoma Christian's efforts to respond were hampered by a red card issued to Maci White in the 81st minute, further tilting the momentum towards the Lady Chaps, who finished out the 1-0 victory.
