Board Games: Pusateri Grabs 21 Rebounds in LCU Win

Chaps Out-Rebound Dominican (NY) 52-33

LAS VEGAS (December 20, 2025) —  Lubbock Christian University basketball team dominated on the glass on the way to a route of Dominican (NY), 85-65 at South Point Arena on Saturday.

Senior forward Antonio Pusateri led the way on boards, pulling down a career-high 21. It is the most by an LCU player since Feb. 7, 2013, when Eli Baker also had 21 against St. Gregory's setting the Rip Griffin Center record. The last time a Chap had more than 21 was Nov. 20, 1990 when Ron Ranger set the program record with 25 against Oklahoma Panhandle State. Pusateri also finished with a career-high 23 points.

Lubbock Christian improved to 11-2 with their victory. Dominican is now 6-4 overall.

The Chaps started strong, leading early thanks to their three-point shooting. Back-to-back threes fron Alex Anaekwe five minutes in gave LCU a four-point lead, and they lead by five at the 12:40 mark, but Dominican responded the Crusaders responded to tie the game and even take their own four-point lead with just under nine minutes left in the half.

A layup from Kendall Dow at the 8:32 mark sparked an 11-3 Lubbock Christian run, and the Chaps took a lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the game. A jumper from Amondo Miller Jr. with 2:55 to go put LCU ahead by as many as nine, but  DU scored the final basket of the half, sending the teams to the break with the Chaps up seven.

Pusateri already had his double-double through 20 minutes with 12 points and 10 rebonds in the first half, and Amondo Miller Jr. went to the locker room with 18 points already.

A dunk from Pusateri on the first possession of the second half set the tone, as LCU opened on a 6-0 run to push the gap to double-digits. Dominican cut it back to 12 at the 12:26 mark, but that was the closes they would get the rest of the way.

Miller Jr. hit a jumper with 8:33 remaining to get the lead to 20, and his two free throws at the 6:31 mark gave them their widest lead at 24 points. The Chaps outscored the Crusaders 38–25 in the half, cruising to an 85–65 victory as the game concluded.

Miller Jr. scored 29 points and collected 16 rebounds, making 11 of 20 field goal attempts. Pusateri added 23 points and posted 21 rebounds, converting 10 of 20 shots. Kendall Dow recorded 13 points and five assists, finishing 6 of 10 from the field.
