Lubbock Christian will wrap up its road trip to the Sunflower State on Saturday, taking on Newman in a neutral site game at 1 p.m. in Hays, Kansas.
CHAPARRAL NEWS & NOTES
- Connor Pettigrew matched his season high with four saves in Thursday's game against Fort Hays State. The Frisco, Texas native has 13 saves on the year with six goals allowed for a .684 save percentage
- Geoffroy Letienne continues to lead the team in total minutes played with 427. He anchors an LCU defense that has limited opponents to an average of 1.20 goals per game so far this season
- Manu Nunez put three shots on goal in the game against Fort Hays State and now leads the team in that category with six. He has 12 shots overall, but has yet to find the back of the net
- This is LCU's last full weekend of nonconference play. The Chaps will take on Sul Ross on Thursday in a nonconference battle before starting the LSC slate on Saturday against St. Mary's
- Lubbock Christian's last win came by a score of 5-0 at Adams State on September 6
SCOUTING THE JETS
- Newman has lost just once this season, falling 1-0 in their season-opener against West Texas A&M
- Gabriel Juliani Dias leads the team in points with eight, having scored three goals and assisted two others
- Francisco Pinochet has handled the majority duties in goal, making 14 saves against five goals allowed
- Victor Domingues is in his third season as the head coach of the Newman program
- Gibran Villalobos is the only Jet to have played every minute of every match so far, spending all 360 minutes of the season on the back line
