LCU Track & Field Teams Headed to LSC Championships

Chaps, Lady Chaps Competing in Albuquerque

02.27.2026

LUBBOCK, Texas (February 26, 2026) – The Lubbock Christian University track and field teams will head to The Land of Enchantment this weekend to compete at the 2026 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The highlight of both the men's and the women's squads is the 4X400 relay teams.

LCU's men's relay has already put up impressive numbers this season, breaking the program record in the event and running the fourth-fastest time in Division II history. The team of Daniel Sianez, Aden Soto, Reuel Campbel and Chris Moffett ran a blistering 3:08.13 two weeks ago. They would need to shave off a little less than one second in order to break the D-II record, set last season by Pittsburg State.

The Lady Chap relay team of Kerrigan Hyunh, Joy Egwu, Elizabeth Florez and Jozlyn Arana has also been impressive. Their best time of the season also came two weeks ago at the Jarvis Scott Invite, where they ran a 3:43.40, which is the ninth-fastest time in D-II this year.

Three members of the women's relay team have also provisionally qualified in the 400-meter individually. Arana has the best time of the group with a time of 55.46. She also ran a PR of 24.83 in the 200-meter this season. Florez ran a season-best 56.21 individually in the 400-meter, and Egwu's top time this year is a 56.32.

On the distance side, the Lady Chaps will look for points from Olivia Weider, who has the best times on the team in both the 3000-meter and 5000-meter this season.

The only program record broken (so far) this season on the women's side comes in the triple jump, where freshman Matilda Galvan has already made her mark with a jump of 10.83 meters. She will look to break her own record this weekend.

LCU's men's relay members have also had strong seasons individually, with Campbell, Sianez and Moffett all recording NCAA provisional marks in both the 200 and 400. Campbell – a two-time LSC Track Athlete of the Week this season – has the eighth-fastest 400 time in D-II at 46.78 and the 13th-best time in the 200-meter at 21.17

Moffet's personal-best in the 400 is 46.97, which ranks 15th in D-II, while Sianez's 47.25 ranks 24th.

Samuel Bryan has been good in the distance events, running the best mile (4:24.05) and 3000-meter (8:48.54) times of any Chap this season. And in the field events, the Chaps will count on Maurice Gray in both the long and triple jump.

This two-day event will have live-results, available here.
