Catcher Kyndel McDaniel staked the Aggies to an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning. Stormee Reed (1-1) was charged with the loss after surrendering five runs during the Lady Chaps' fourth-inning rally.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cameron struck quickly in the bottom of the first. Chloe Broussard was hit by a pitch and Brynn Webber reached on a dropped third strike before McDaniel launched a three-run home run to left field for a 3-0 advantage.
LCU was held scoreless through the first three innings before igniting in the fourth.
Kadin Vire opened the frame with a solo home run to right field. Two batters later, Hamilton connected on a two-run shot to center to tie the game at 3-3.
The rally continued as
Coryn Burris reached on an error and
Cat Prisock drew a walk. Flores followed with an RBI double to give LCU its first lead.
Lexi Clark added an RBI single, and after Vire worked a walk to load the bases, Chambers-Lee cleared them with a three-run double deep to right-center, pushing the Lady Chaps ahead 8-3.
Cameron answered in the fifth when Gardella delivered a two-run home run to left, trimming the deficit to 8-5. Ward entered in relief and limited further damage, highlighted by a strikeout and defensive execution that cut down a runner at third to end the inning (bases were loaded and the runner at third thought ball four was called).
LCU added key insurance in the seventh. Hamilton singled and Burris followed with a ground-rule double before Pacheco lined a two-run single to center, extending the lead to 10-5.
The Aggies added a run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single from Camryn Hunkins, but Ward induced a strikeout to close out the 10-6 conference victory.

GAME 2
Behind a dominant performance in the circle from freshman Alexis Clark and timely late offense, LCU completed a doubleheader sweep of Cameron with a 2-0 victory in the nightcap at McMahon Field.
The Lady Chaps moved to 10-10 overall and 6-4 in Lone Star Conference play, securing their third shutout win in league action this season. Clark (1-0) was outstanding, tossing a complete-game two-hitter over 6.2 innings, walking two and striking out two while facing just 25 batters.
Ashlinn Hamilton provided the breakthrough with a solo home run, finishing 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Riley Flores went 2-for-3 and scored both LCU runs, while
Cat Prisock added two hits, including a run-scoring single in the seventh.
Cameron fell to 8-11 overall and 2-8 in conference play despite a strong outing from left-hander Mikah Vann (1-1), who allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings. Chloe Broussard and Kyndel McDaniel accounted for the Aggies' only hits.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The nightcap quickly developed into a pitcher's duel. Cameron threatened in the third inning, loading the bases with one out following a walk, bunt single and catcher's interference call. Clark responded by inducing a fielder's choice (out at home) and a groundout to short and escaping the jam without allowing a run, preserving the scoreless tie.
LCU broke through in the fourth. With two outs, Hamilton drove a 3-1 pitch over the left-field wall for a solo home run, giving the Lady Chaps a 1-0 advantage.
The Lady Chaps had opportunities to add on in the fifth when Flores and Prisock delivered back-to-back singles, but Vann escaped the inning with a lineout and flyout to keep it a one-run game.
Clark continued to cruise, retiring the side in order in the fourth and sixth innings and allowing only one runner past second base after the third.
LCU manufactured an insurance run in the seventh. Flores singled to center, stole second and scored when Prisock lined a two-out RBI single back up the middle, extending the lead to 2-0.
Clark closed the door in the bottom half, retiring Madysen Boutwell and Rylee Ross before striking out Payton Dickerson swinging to secure the shutout and complete the doubleheader sweep.
