FRISCO, Texas (March 7, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University ran into a hot-shooting Eastern New Mexico University team in the Lone Star Conference Tournament semifinals, losing 101-85 on Saturday at the Comerica Center.
Despite the Chaparrals' strong first half, where they scored 43 points, ENMU pulled away in the second half with 11 three-pointers and a 54-point performance after the break. The Chaps tallied 38 points in the paint but were unable to overcome the Greyhounds' efficient shooting and ball control.
Lubbock Christian opened the first half with a steady offense, matching Eastern N.M. in points in the paint and on the fastbreak.
Antonio Pusateri led the Chaparrals with multiple successful field goals, starting with a layup at 18:29, keeping the team within reach of their opponents.
The visiting team demonstrated resilience, particularly through a
Kendall Dow three-pointer at with just over four minutes left in the half, giving them a brief lead at 38–36. However, the Greyhounds responded with a 7-0 run and led by four at the break.
The Chaps struggled to close the gap against ENMU during the second half, despite a series of significant plays by
Amondo Miller Jr. and Pusateri. Miller contributed with consistent scoring, including multiple successful jumpers, scoring 13 of his 23 points in the final 20 minutes.
However, turnovers and missed opportunities plagued the Chaps, and ENMU capitalized on these errors. The Greyhound shot a scorching 68.5 percent in the final 20 minutes, including 6-of-8 from behind the arc.
Amondo Miller Jr. led with 23 points, converting 8 of 9 free throws and adding eight rebounds. Pusateri contributed 21 points and dished out five assists while shooting 9-for-14 from the field.
Kendall Dow scored 17 points, including three 3-pointers, and recorded four assists.
GAME NOTES:
- The Greyhounds shot 59.4 percent from the field in the game, which is the highest by a Chaps opponent this season. The Lady Chaps are now 2-4 in games where their opponent shoots better than 50 percent.
- ENMU shot 61.1 percent from behind the arc, which was their highest three-point percentage in a game since Dec. 21, 2019, when they shot 68.2 percent against Oklahoma Christian.
- Pusateri's four rebounds were tied for his least in a single game this season. He also had four on Nov. 6 against Regis, playing just 17 minutes.
