LAWTON, Oklahoma (April 18, 2026) – More changes came to Lubbock Christian University's schedule on Saturday, but it didn't phase the Chaps, who finished off one win and secured a second in the series against Cameron.
Â
The Chaps are now 26-18 on the season and currently fifth in the Lone Star Conference standings.
Â
In the resumption of Friday's suspended contest, which picked up in the top of the eighth inning, LCU's offense immediately went back to work.
Hudson Grace drove in a pair with a single and then worked a double steal with
Kyle Lewis to add one more run before the Aggies were able to get out of the inning.
Â
Those runs proved important to secure the Chaparral victory, because even though the Aggies went scoreless in the bottom half of the frame, they had one final comeback attempt in the bottom of the ninth.
Â
Cameron plated three runs in the frame with just one out recorded, chasing
Dakota McCaskill as LCU brought
Tyler Sudderth out of the bullpen. He walked a batter to put runners at the corners, but
Jorge De Los Santos nabbed a runner trying to steal second, and Sudderth got a strikeout to end the game.
Â
Lubbock Christian had taken an early lead when the game began on Friday with
Kyle Lewis homering to deep left field on the second pitch of the game.
Hudson Grace then tripled and scored on
Jorge De Los Santos's sacrifice fly, putting the Chaparrals ahead 2-0 through the first inning.
Â
Cameron responded in the second inning. Zane Roos singled and advanced on plays, leading to two unearned runs due to a fielding error. The Aggies gained a 3-2 lead in the third inning when Wyatt Cunningham scored on a another error.
Â
The Chaps regained momentum in the fourth inning with
Hudson Grace hitting a three-run homer, moving the team back in front, 5-3. In the sixth inning, Lewis added another run with a sacrifice fly, before the lightning malfunction pushed the conclusion of the game to Saturday.
Â
GAME TWO
Lubbock Christian jumped out to an early lead once again, scoring three runs.
Kyle Lewis and
Hudson Grace both singled, and an error allowed Lewis to score.
Owen Alsup's RBI single brought in Grace, and
Jorge De Los Santos later scored on a double play as the Chaps went up 3-0 before starting pitcher
Aaron Rubio ever took the mound.
Â
In the second inning, the Chaps capitalized on a fielding error to add four more runs.
Tanner Pachorek, Lewis, and Grace all reached base, with De Los Santos and Alsup driving in three runs combined.
Freddie Nolen's groundout scored another, extending the lead to 7-0.
Â
The third inning saw
Chase Ditmar and Pachorek reach base safely, followed by Grace's RBI single, to drive in Ditmar and give the Chaps an eight-run advantage, but the Aggies responded with three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Â
During the fifth inning, the Chaps capitalized on another error to score, with Pachorek's groundout bringing
Carlos Mauldin home. They added more in the sixth when Grace and De Los Santos both walked and stole bases. A hit-by-pitch scored Grace, and Ditmar's single drove in two more runs as Lubbock Christian extended the lead to 12-3.
Â
The Aggies managed to score two runs in the seventh inning, forcing the Chaps to again call on Sudderth. He got out of the frame and pitched a scoreless eighth before giving way to
Landon Abrahamson, who hung a zero in the ninth to close out the win.
Â
GAME NOTES

- Ditmar's hit in the third inning of the second game was his first this season. He becomes the 14th different LCU player with a hit this year
- Rubio struck out a season-high nine batters in his 6.2 innings or work on the way to his seventh win of the season, which is tied for the third-most in the LSC
- Grace stole three bases in the second game, which is the second-most by a Chap in a game this year. He, Lewis and De Los Santos have all swiped more than 20 bags apiece in 2026
