EMPORIA, Kansas (May 21, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University junior Maurice Gray earned a podium finish at the NCAA Division II Track and Field National Championships at Francis G. Welch Stadium on Thursday.
 
Gray finished seventh in the long jump with a leap of 7.38 meters, which is the second-best jump of his career.
 
This is the second podium finish is the second of the season for Gray, who also finished seventh in the long jump at the indoor national championship meet. He was also a silver medalist at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships in the long jump.
 
Gray's personal best in the event came earlier this season at the Jo Meaker Classic and Multi when he leapt 7.57. He also set a personal best in the triple jump this season with a jump of 14.94 meters.
