LUBBOCK, Texas (September 24, 2026) – The Lubbock Christian men's basketball program has finalized its schedule for the 2026-27 season, which opens on Oct. 30.
 
The Chaps will kick off the season with three games in three days, competing in the D2CCA Tipoff Classic. This year's invitational will be hosted by Central Washington, who LCU plays on Nov. 1. They will also take on Montana State Billings and Western Washington as well while they are in The Evergreen State.
 
LCU will also play their next four games away from home, including a pair of contests in Colorado Nov. 13-14 and games in Oklahoma Nov. 20-21.
 
Lubbock Christian finally gets a chance to play in front of their home fans the weekend after Thanksgiving, hosting non-conference contests against Fort Lewis and Western New Mexico on Nov. 27-28, respectively.
 
Lone Star Conference play starts the first week of December for the Chaps with games at Angelo State and UT Permian Basin. LCU will now play a 20-game league schedule with all games counting toward conference standings. The Chaps will only play four teams in the league twice – Angelo State, UT Permian Basin, Midwestern State and Cameron.
 
The final two non-conference games of the regular season come just before the holiday break, and the Chaps will head to the Sunshine State to play them. LCU will take on Post University and Florida Southern College at the Mocs Christmas Classic in Lakeland, Florida.
 
League play resumes on Jan. 1 as the Chaps close out the regular season with 16 games in the new year. The top eight teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the LSC Tournament March 5-8 at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.
 
The Division II Men's Basketball Championship starts with regionals March 13-16 at campus sites and continues to the Elite Eight March 24-28 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Ind.
 
Lubbock Christian finished the 2025-26 season 27-6, matching the program record for wins that was set in 2022. The finished tied for second in the Lone Star Conference and made the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history and sixth-straight season.
