PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 6, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University completed an undefeated road trip with a 1-0 win against CSU-Pueblo at Gonzales Stadium on Sunday. Trinity Doom scored the game's only goal in the 61st minute and the Lady Chaps withstood a late Thunderwolves offensive flurry to secure the win. 

The Lady Chaps withstood early Thunderwolves pressure in the first half, with Emma Wright saving shots in the opening minute and again at the 9:21 mark to keep the match scoreless. LCU earned corner kicks at 5:45 and 24:54, and Kali Guy followed the second corner with a shot on frame that Peppi Niemi saved. 

Ceci Madrid added another saved attempt in the 30th minute while Wright made a third save at 34:04. The closing minutes grew physical, with yellow cards issued to CSUP at 37:28 and Maya Quinones at 43:29 along with fouls by both sides, and the Lady Chaps reached halftime still deadlocked 0-0. 

Early in the second half, the Lady Chaps built pressure with Journey Curs forcing a save, Riley Espinoza putting multiple attempts on frame or off the woodwork, Guy missing left, and several corner kicks. 

Trinity Doom finally broke through, heading home a corner kick from Curs. Lubbock Christian continued to press with shots from Espinoza, Mia Chambliss and Kenzie Tosch, plus two more corners, but were unable to add to their lead. 

The Thunderwolves pushed late, but Wright made saves in the 73rd, 83rd and final minute while two CSUP shots hit the woodwork, and the Chaps finished off the 1-0 result.

GAME NOTES:
- The Lady Chaps have now won three straight matches, matching their longest win streak of the last six seasons. The last time they won more than three matches in a row was 2019.
- Doom's second-half header was her second straight game-winning goal. She is tied for the Lone Star Conference lead in game-winners.
- The Lady Chaps finished with one less shot attempt than their hosts, making this the first time they won this season when attempting fewer shots than their opponent.
- Wright had six saves in the match to preserve her first clean sheet of the season. It is her most in a match this year. In 2025, she had more than six saves only four times.
- The only corner kick the Lady Chaps allowed came at the 88:45 mark of the match. Since they did not allow a corner kick in each of their last two matches, they ended up with a streak of 344 minutes and seven seconds without allowing a corner kick.
