Closed out his LCU career with 14 appearances (all starts), leading to a 4.99 ERA and a 6-7 record.... Led the team in wins (6), strikeouts(61), opposing batting average (.289) and innings pitched (83).

2014 (LCU)
Gerlich claimed All-Region (ABCA and NCBWA) honors by going 11-0 this season and is the only player in NCAA Div. II without a loss and at least 11 wins this season... Co-led the conference in wins (11) and starts (14), and ranked tied for eighth in strikeouts (61) and tied for ninth in innings pitched (85). He had a 3.92 ERA and a team-leading three complete games.

Junior College
Spent time at two junior colleges before arriving at LCU... He spent his freshman season (2012) at North Central Texas College in Gainesville, Texas, where he primarily played outfield and hit .278 with two home runs in 22 games... Transferred to Odessa College in Odessa, Texas and appeared in 11 games as a sophomore (making six starts) and was 4-2 with a 6.07 ERA...He struck out 37 batters in 43 innings of work.

High School
Was a talented and heavily recruited quarterback while attending Seguin High School in Seguin, Texas... Also a First Team All-District slection for the Matadors basketball and baseball programs...
