2017 (LCU)
Crooks went 9-2 on the mound in 2017, with a 2.88 ERA leading to ABCA and D2CCA All-Region accolades... Led the Chaps in strikeouts (96) and in holding opponents to a .211 batting average... He allowed an average of 6.5 hits (led the conference) and 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings during the season to lead the team in each category...

Redshirted as a member of the Chaparrals.

Junior College
Played under head coach David Coleman (former Chap) at Midland College the past two seasons. He combined to go 5-4 in nine starts and 24 appearances over two seasons at Midland. Crooks was part of the 2014 JUCO World Series squad MC fielded and pitched at the series (Midland finished third).
 
High School
Crooks prepped at Midland Christian High School (Midland, Texas), which is the same program that former Chaps member Nikko Velarde played for. At MCHS, he was a two-time TAPPS All-State selection and two-time All-State Academic recipient. He also claimed All-State Baseball Tournament honors at the 2012 TAPPS 4A State Championship Tournament. Was part of a pitching rotation that included Velarde and Matt Withrow. MCHS won the state title in 2012 and finished as runner-up in 2013.
