Fourth place at the Texas Tech Cross Country Open with a 23:16.6... Placed fifth at Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships with a season best 22:26.8... 34th overall at the 2016 South Central Regional Cross Country Championships... Completed the fourth leg of the Distance Medley Relay to help the Lady Chaps grab third place at the Lone Star Conference Indoor Track Championships... Second place at Lone Star Indoor Championships in the 3,000-meter event with a time of 11:12.25...  Completed the outdoor track season with two first place finishes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 1,500-meter events... Finished second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5,000-meter races at the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track Championships.
Freshman Season
Tabbed a third place finish at the Buffalo Stampede in Canyon, Texas with a 23.38.9 in the 6k event... Placed 13th at 2015 Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships... 43rd overall at NCAA Div. II South Central Regional Championships.
High School
A native of Sandia Park, N.M., Amira comes to LCU after named No.4 on New Mexico Milesplit's Top 30 Seniors list. She finished third at the New Mexico Activities Association Class-4A State Championships in cross country for East Mountain High School (Sandia Park, N.M.) and also competed in the NMAA Class-4A State Championship Track & Field meet, where she claimed first place in the 1600-meter and the 3200-meter events and third in the 800-meter run.
