2019 (Lamar Community College)
In his first and only season with the Runnin' Lopes, Nelson played in 54 games, leading the team with a .354 batting average, .514 on-base percentage  and 12 home runs. He also hit 13 doubles and one triple while scoring 51 times and driving in 43 runs. Nelson also showed off his speed with a team-leading 18 stolen bases for a Lamar CC team that ended the season 34-24 overall and captured the Region 9 Championship for the first time in seven years. He was selected to the All-Region 9 Team for his performance. 

2018 (LCU) 
Nelson got into 10 games off the bench for the Chaps, recording three hits in nine at-bats. One of the hits was a home run, which came in the win at Adams State on March 3. He handled seven chances in the field without an error. 

Amarillo High School
A letterwinner at Amarillo High... His junior season, he led the state in doubles and ranked second in RBI to claim All-State Honors (THSBCA and TSWA)... Received All-District honors as a junior and senior for on-field and academic performances... Was an Amarillo Globe News Super Team recipient in 2016 and 2017... Played summer baseball with Amarillo Baseball Academy...
