Sandoval ran his first career four-mile run at the Texas Tech Open, finishing with a time of 22:51.8. He set a personal best time in the 8K at the D-II Preview, finishing 11th with a time of 27:26.3. Sandoval ended the season at the 2021 NCAA South Central Regional, recording a time of 36:17.6 in the 10K.
