Hayward appeared in all 54 games the Chaparrals played, hitting .280 with five doubles and six home runs... Drove in 32 runs and scored 29 times during the season while mainly playing third base. 

Junior College
Played junior college baseball in Midland, Texas at Midland Junior College, where he combined for 13 home runs, 113 RBI and 94 runs in 121 games spanning three seasons... His sophomore season (2017), he hit .383 along with seven home runs, 62 RBI and 51 runs in 58 games, leading to WJCAC All-Conference (First Team) honors...  In 58 games as a freshman (2016), he hit .300 with six homers, 47 RBI and 43 runs scored... He was limited to five games in 2015, claiming a medical redshirt...

Was a three-time 3A All-State selection (third base) at Woodrow, Texas based Lubbock Cooper High School... Claimed a pair of All-District honors (2013, 2014) in District 2-3A... participated in the 2014 Greater West Texas Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game... Was a Lone Star Varsity Super Team member in 2014 (Lubbock Avalanche-Journal)... Played academy baseball with Albuquerque Baseball Academy - West Texas...
