Junior College
He appeared in 53 games in 2015 as a sophomore at Seward County Community College (Liberal, Kan.) and hit .309 with four homers and 23 RBI produced. Produced 19 multi-hit games. Urquizo had a solid freshman year for the Saints in 2014, hitting .376 which was fourth best on the team while ripping 17 extra base hits and driving in 31 runs in 44 games. He closed his freshman campaign on a nine game hit streak, including five games in the postseason, in which he was 13 for 29 (.448).
 
High School
Urquizo made the trip to Liberal to play for the Saints after playing for Coach Grant Martin and Vernon High School for four seasons.  He hit .590 his senior season with 13 RBI and 15 stolen bases en route to being named the District MVP as well as receiving All-State honors.  Was a two-time recipient of the District MVP honor, also claiming the award as a junior hitting .519.  He was also an accomplished athlete on the football field and in track, Urquizo was the District MVP in football as a senior and was a two time state qualifier in track.  He also played amateur baseball with the Burkburnett BlackSox.
