David Cruz has been a part of the baseball coaching staff for over two seasons since closing out a two-year playing career with the Chaps. Cruz appeared with the Chaps during the 2010 and 2011 seasons after a junior college tenure at Seward County Community College (Liberal, Kan.). With the Chaps, the Venezuelan hit .376 in 126 games over the combined two seasons. He hit 29 doubles, six triples and eight homers in his LCU career. Cruz also produced 104 RBI and 119 runs. In 2011, he ranked in the top-40 in runs and hits.
