Austin played in nine games during the season, collecting a pair of hits in nine at-bats ... Scored one run against Adams State on March 3 ... Made 18 putouts and had three assists from behind the plate. 

Junior College
Split his junior college career between a pair of programs, spending his freshman season at Gulf Coast State (Panama City, Fla.) before transferring to New Mexico Junior College (Hobbs, N.M). Made 20 appearances as a freshman at GCSC in 2016 and hit .333 with five runs batted in and a home run. He was limited to nine games in 2017 with NMJC and hit .308 with six runs scored.
 
High School
Attended Mandarin High School in his hometown of Jacksonville, Fla, where he was a four-year letterwinner in baseball and graduated in 2015. Along with playing baseball at Mandarin, Austin also served as quarterback on the football squad.
