2021 (LCU)
Although he played sparingly early in the season, Hernandez was ready when called upon and became a key part of the Chap offense down the stretch. He made just one start in the first month and a half before getting inserted in as the designated hitter on March 27 against St. Edward's. All the Puerto Rico native did in that game was go 5-5 with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI, leading the Chaps to a come-from-behind win. Hernandez played much more frequently down the stretch, even working his way into the outfield, where he had never played before collegiately. He hit .296 for the year, scoring 27 runs and driving in 23 more. 

2020 (LCU)
Hernandez played in every game for Lubbock Christian and started 23 of them, mainly at shortstop. He hit .235 with 16 hits in 68 at-bats. All but one of those hits were singles, but he did have one double and drove in six runs. He was also third on the team in steals, going a perfect 4-4 on the bases. 

2019 (Frank Phillips College)
Playing less frequently as a sophomore, Hernandez saw his average drop off to .284 (in 95 at-bats). He still showed some power with four doubles, two triples and three home runs while also scoring seven times. 

2018 (Frank Phillips College)
Hernandez saw action right away, playing in 46 of the 55 scheduled games for Frank Phillips College. He was fourth on the team with a .318 batting average, hitting six doubles, two triples and two home runs while driving in 25 Plainsmen runners. The Puerto Rico native also showed off his speed with a team-second 10 stolen bases.
