Marty made six appearances (five in relief) on the mound his first season with the Chaps... Combined to go 0-1 with a 10.61 ERA in 9.1 innings of work.... Produced a scoreless inning of work in his only conference appearance (vs. Rogers State on Apr. 17).

Junior College
Played at Vernon College in Vernon, Texas for two seasons... Marty was on the mound for 13 games as a freshman (2013) with Vernon College and started 11 of them... He went 4-5 with a 4.73 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 70.1 innings and also had a pair of complete games and one shutout... In 2014, he made eight appearances on the mound, with six out of the bullpen... Went 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA and produced one complete game in one of two starts... Combined for a 6-9 over his Vernon career.

High School
He was a quarterback in high school at Archer City, where he also excelled on the diamond and was a 2012 Maxpreps Small Schools All-American Second Team honoree at first base after hitting .509 with 16 home runs... The Texas Baseball Coaches Association named him to the All-State Team...
