2018 (LCU)
Tied for the team lead with eight wins in 2018 with an ERA of 4.10 ... His 15 appearances were the second most on the team, and his seven complete games and 83.1 innings on the mound were the most of any Chaparral... Named to the All-Heartland Conference Second Team. 

2017 (LCU)
Completed a 10-2 season in 2017, with a 2.67 ERA... He made 16 starts (tied for fifth nationally), with seven going the distance to rank fourth nationally in complete games... Led the Heartland Conference and ranked 12th nationally in victories on the mound with 10... The 2017 Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-Conference selection was also an ABCA, D2CCA and NCBWA All-Region recipient.

2016 (LCU)
The right-handed freshman was named the Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year and First Team member after finishing 17th nationally in earned run average at 2.11. He picked up seven wins for the Chaps (7-2) and produced 76 strikeouts in 81 innings spanning a team co-leading 22 appearances. Contreras held opponents to a .220 batting average. He was named the Heartland Pitcher of the Week on March 15 following an 11.2 inning, 14-strikeout week in relief. Contreras was LCU’s first Heartland Conference Freshman of the Year recipient in baseball. He also received ABCA All-South Central Region honors.

High School
Prepped locally at Lubbock Christian High School, playing under former Chap and MLB’er Steve Watkins. Was an All-South Plains selection as a senior.  He garnered three TAPPS All-State and two Academic All-State honors. The three-time All-District 1-3A selection was part of the Eagles State Tournament team as a senior and claimed All-Tournament Team honors with the Eagles Runner-Up finish.
