Burgess joined the LCU Sports Medicine Department in July of 2023 after completing an assignment at University of Texas Arlington (UTA) through her services as a program coordinator with Ability Sport Network at Huntingdon College. A native of McKinney, Texas, the Boyd High School (McKinney) was a women’s soccer student-athlete at Montgomery, Ala. based Huntingdon College while completing her undergrad work in Exercise Science. The former women’s soccer Team Captain completed her Master’s of Athletic Training at Huntington in the Ability Sport Network, where she had hands-on training with the Huntingdon’s athletic programs. In addition, she worked with high schools, local physicians and universities in the Montgomery area (including Faulkner University). A Huntingdon College Ambassador’s Ambassador of the Year recipient, Burgess was also involved with Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians (MANE), assisting the program that provides equestrian therapy for children and adults who have physical and cognitive disabilities.
